TRANSIT is a four week residency program for artists who have completed an undergraduate degree.

During their time at TRANSIT, residents are provided with free room and board, a stipend to help defer the cost of their project, and access to studio facilities and exhibition space. Artists have an opportunity to further investigate projects from their academic studies or to explore an entirely different direction.

TRANSIT is committed to both individual expression and public purpose. TRANSIT and residency participants are dedicated to organizing events in collaboration with local community members and organizations, making creative practice a community effort.

TRANSIT San Antonio is located just south of downtown in the historic A. Grona Mattress Factory. Artists are selected through an application process reviewed by TRANSIT directors and chairmen of the board.
